The Minister of Interior has issued an Order/Decree (Κ.Δ.Π 448/2009), according to which, the minimum reference monthly amount which is considered as sufficient resources for researchers to cover their living and repatriation expenses, without having recourse to Cyprus social assistance system, is:

1. For the Category of Postgraduate Associates/Doctoral Candidates the amount of €2000. In case family members reside with the researcher the amount increases to €2500.
2. For the category of Postdoctoral Researchers holding PhD degrees the amount of €2500. In case family members reside with the researcher the amount increases to €3000.
