On 29th May 2024, a Grant Agreement was signed between the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, as the Managing Authority of the Home Affairs Funds, and the Civil Registry and Migration Department, acting as the Beneficiary, for the implementation of the project titled “Strengthening of the Management of Legal Migration”, which is co-financed by the European Union.

The objective of the project is to strengthen the Legal Migration Sector of the Civil Registry and Migration Department, by employing 48 Officers (fixed-term employees) at the Department, for the purposes of management and support with regard to migration matters.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, and it is jointly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus, with a total budget of €1,864,902.25.
