A Grant Agreement was signed on 28 May 2024 between the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, as the Managing Authority of the Home Affairs Funds, and the International Protection Administrative Court (IPAC), as the Beneficiary, to finance the project titled “Strengthening the Judicial Service through the IPAC”.
The project is related to strengthening the International Protection Administrative Court with additional staff and equipment, aiming to manage the increased number of appeals submitted by international protection applicants.
With this project implementation, the IPAC will be able to handle a larger number of cases, leading to the reduction of already outstanding decisions. Thus, the project is expected to improve the operation of the asylum system of the Republic of Cyprus (RoC) and contribute to the improved management of migration flows.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, jointly funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus, with a total budget of €3,630,216.35.
The project implementation period is 01/05/2022 - 31/12/2027.
