 | | The Grant Agreement was successfully signed between the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, as the Managing Authority, and the Cyprus Police and the University of Cyprus, as the Beneficiary, to jointly finance the project titled “REACTION: REal-time ArtifiCial InTellIgence for BOrders Surveillance via RPAS data aNalytics to support Law Enforcement Agencies”.
Based on EU funded projects (CERETAB, AIDERS, ROBORDER), the REACTION project aims at the development of an integrated border surveillance platform which will incorporate unmanned vehicles (UxV) and Artificial Intelligence for detection and classification, enhancing the prompt identification of threats. REACTION will be connected to the existing platforms at the Reception and Identification Centres (RIC) as a preventive measure.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Instrument for Financial Support for Border Management and Visa Policy (BMVI), jointly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus, with a total budget of €839,283.02.
The project implementation period is 01/04/2024 to 31/12/2025. |
