| | On 22 August 2024, the Grant Agreement was signed between the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, as the Managing Authority of the Home Affairs Funds, and the CARDET (Centre for the Advancement of Research and Development Technology), which acts as the Beneficiary, for the implementation of the project titled “Greek language lessons for minor third-country nationals”, financed jointly by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus. The partners in the project are the Frederick University and the consulting firm INNOVADE L.I. LTD.
This project is pertinent to the smooth and quick integration of minor TCN in the school environment and the reception society in general, as well as the prevention of social exclusion. The project will develop and offer in a series of courses a Greek-language learning programme for minor third-country nationals, and it will be customised to their needs, based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
The programme responds to and will contribute to meeting the increased needs for learning support to children with a migrant background, who are a significant part of the school population, as a result of the changes in the composition of the school communities.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, and it is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus. Its total budget is €279,929.87.
Project implementation period: 01/08/2024-31/01/2026. |
