A Grant Agreement was signed on 20th February 2024 between the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, as the Managing Authority of the Home Affairs Funds, and the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus, as the Beneficiary, for the joint funding of the “Strengthening of the Law Office in Asylum Seekers Issues” project.

The project objective is to strengthen the Law Office of the Republic, through the purchase of services of lawyers and support staff (secretarial staff, clerks, cleaners), as well as the supply of equipment, so that the Office can deal in the following years with the increased number of cases related to asylum seekers issues which are brought before the International Protection Administrative Court, the Administrative Court and the Supreme Court.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), and it is jointly funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus, with a total budget of €3,760,000.

Project implementation period: 01/05/2022 - 31/12/2025.
