A Grant Agreement was signed on 26th April 2024 between the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior and the Social Welfare Services (SWS) to finance the project titled “Strengthening the SWS to manage migration flows”.

The main objective of the project is the employment of Social Service Officers and Institution Officers on a fixed-term basis by the Beneficiary, in order to meet the needs of the SWS, aiming at the management of the rapidly increasing cases of applicants for international protection, including unaccompanied minors.

The personnel will strengthen the existing structures of the SWS, so that they can meet more efficiently and in a timely manner the needs of the target groups, which will have a direct positive impact on their living conditions.

The project is implemented with the joint financing of the European Union (within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund) and the Republic of Cyprus and with a total budget of €4,475,650.

The project implementation period is 01/06/2022 - 31/05/2024.
